Well I was driving the truck the other day at about 65 down the highway and felt the engine bog down. I kept driving about 15 miles to get to the house then yesterday i drove about 2 miles to a buddies and it started bogging down bad like no more than 3k rpm and started making backfire sounds or blow by sounds. When i tried to leave to go home the truck wouldnt start at all. A few hours went by and i drove it to the house however barely made it. On the way back my buddy followed incase it died on me and i could see lots of smoke in my rearview and could hear what sounded like belts slipping. When back at the house i could see smoke coming out from under the truck not think or any thing but the driver side manifold was glowing orange at the cat. Ive checked the oil and changed the plugs. I thought it was bad gas but have put new gas in it all i can think of is either clogged cat or the timing belt slipped on the driver side and through the timing off. I really have no idea and dont want to start replacing things until i know whats wrong. If anyone knows whats going on here please let me know otherwise the truck may be at the end of its (semi-stock) life. by the way its a 2000 frontier vg33 auto
